Stroll in the park – Photography

Captures from a stroll in a park is  today’s post for the photography section .I was a little late to capture the fall colors this year , being tied up with many things .When I was finally able to equip myself with a camera to the park , most of the foliage was almost getting dried up . I captured a few clicks  and was in luck to spot a species of a crane quietly resting near the lake .Winter has not official set in here , but we have been getting below freezing temperatures already and even expecting snow this weekend. The autumn season  is undoubtedly the best time of the year .The saying goes “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” How true ! Traditionally it is said autumn is the season where you let things go and look forward to new beginnings , rebirth and rejuvenation. The beautiful orange, yellow, red colors among the green leaves is truly a breathtaking sight and truly a great  time to reflect on being grateful and the little things we take for granted .Autumn sure is the year’s last, loveliest smile and am sure most of us wouldn’t  agree more! Hope you enjoy these pictures .Please click on each image  for a higher resolution.

The crane in the park was quite a sight probably resting after a meal or looking for it’s next meal .

Oooo very cold indeed! Beautiful photos, you did well capturing the crane. And I especially love all three photos on the bottom row, those sum up calm, autumn, early winter, crisp and fresh for me. Thanks for sharing =]

Thanks a lot Megala for the appreciation. The best time to get these shots is mid to late October and there are some awesome places close by to visit for the fall colors especially .I hope to capture in depth the next time.

What wonderful pictures! Did you use a telephoto lens or were you actually close to them?

Thanks a lot Diane , I used a telephoto lens for some pictures , as I didn’t want to disturb the bird . I later realized it cared less even when I went a little closer 🙂

Pretty photos, Nisha. I love the look of the meditating heron, the hunched creature. It might be a Great Blue Heron.

Thanks a lot Dippy , Ah ! I think you are right it must be a blue heron . The sand hill crane looks similar except for it’s neck . It was amazing seeing it from close quarters. Sure enough it was meditating and was not even bothered as I got close for some pictures.
