Tiramisu is a delicious coffee flavored dessert , layered with indulgent ingredients. Interestingly , the word ‘Tiramisu’ means ‘pick me up’ in Italian .It probably got the name because , of the two main ingredients espresso , and cocoa which are caffeinated , and loved by all .This dessert which originated in Italy is made , of rich layers of mascarpone cheese, ladyfinger cookies dipped in instant espresso ,sugar, whipped cream , and topped with cocoa powder. It sure makes it a very lovable dessert with all such luscious ingredients.
There are many variations and recipes to make this lavish dessert . The traditional recipe usually uses egg, custard ,and even alcohol. The recipe I used here, is an egg less ,and non-alcoholic one. This was on my list of things to make from a very long time. The no-bake and egg less version in fact ,makes it one of the simplest ,and quickest dessert to make . Once you have all the ingredients , it is just a matter of layering it ,and refrigerating it .

I used instant coffee powder ,and sugar .This dessert is usually ,not too sweet, but you can always add extra sugar if you prefer to have a sweeter version. The lady finger cookies can be easily found in grocery stores. When dipping the cookies in coffee ensure, not to soak , for very long as it may ,not hold shape .Layer the mixture of whipped cream with mascarpone, generously to get nice layers. Finally , dust with cocoa powder, and bits of shaved chocolate .Refrigerate it at least, for 6 hrs before serving .It will be best, if it sits in the refrigerator overnight. Use a sharp knife dipped in hot water to cut neat square shapes. Wipe the knife with a paper towel ,before cutting the next slice.
Hope you enjoy making ,and having this dessert with family ,and friends .

A delicious Italian dessert made with ladyfinger cookies dipped in coffee and layered with whipped cream , mascarpone cheese and topped with cocoa powder and chocolate bits
- 1 packet Lady finger cookies
- 1 cup Mascarpone cheese
- 3 tbsp granulated Sugar (for mascarpone cheese) Use less or more as per taste
- 1 cup Heavy whipping cream
- 3 tbsp granulated Sugar (for whipped cream) Use less or more as per taste
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tbsp Instant Coffee
- 1 cup water boiling hot
- 2 tbsp sugar Add more if you like it sweeter
- 4 tbsp Cocoa powder for dusting
- 2 tbsp Grated chocolate
Boil water and add the coffee granules and sugar and let it completely cool .
Beat the whipping cream with sugar till it forms stiff peaks , and keep aside in the refrigerator.
Beat the mascarpone cheese with sugar and vanilla until it mixes well, do not over mix.
Gently mix the cheese mixture with the whipped cream using a spatula and gently fold it in.
Divide this mixture into roughly half portions.
Take a small tray . Dip the lady finger cookies in the coffee and neatly line it .
Add one portion of the divided cheese and whipped cream and spread it smoothly to create a layer .
Add another set of dipped cookies to form the next layer .
Add the remaining portion of the cheese and whipped cream to form the top layer .
Dust it with cocoa powder and shaved chocolate .
Refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight for best results .
Cut into desired shapes and serve .

July 3, 2020 at 10:03 pmThank you so much Holly! Yes absolutely very easy to make, and impress your guests and loved ones.Adding eggs would involve cooking on a double broiler etc so I tried skipping it to make it a simple process. The taste is still awesome.I appreciate your support and sharing on social media.
