Rava Coconut Laddu (Semolina coconut sweet balls)

Sweet balls made out of semolina ,coconut and sugar and perfect treat for the festive season of Diwali

  • 1 cup Rava (semolina)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 3 tbsp ghee or clarified butter
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 3 tbsp luke warm milk
  • 2 tbsp cashews halved
  • 1 tbsp raisins halved
  1. Take a heavy bottomed pan and heat 1 tbsp ghee

  2. Fry the cashews and raisins for about a minute

  3. Add the rava (semolina)  with the remaining ghee and roast for about 6 to 7 minutes

  4. Add the grated  coconut and roast for about another 2 minutes

  5. Add the sugar and mix well for another 2 minutes

  6. Add the cardamom powder and mix well

  7. Transfer into a flat plate or bowl and let it cool for about 2 minutes

  8. Add the milk all over the mixture evenly

  9. Mix with your hands and while it is still warm take a handful and make small balls using your palms 

  10. Store it in an air tight container or refrigerator and consume within two to three days.

Recipe Notes

Reduce sugar to 3/4 cup or to  your liking .

Take care while roasting semolina , it should be even and using a medium flame so that it is not burnt or browned.
