"Gardening is the purest of human pleasures." - Francis Bacon. So it has been ! Today's post has photos from our garden and inspirational quotes on gardening. The pandemic and social distancing has slowed down many day to day activities, and most people are spending time gardening. We have been using the extra, additional time gardening as well.

Hanging out with plants and nature in the backyard, is very satisfying. It is indeed a great get away, and a pleasant diversion from the stressful news and happenings around. It is amazing what a great difference, getting your hands dirty in the garden can do. Be it cleaning weeds, controlling pests, nurturing plants, harvesting fresh vegetables and herbs, they all truly give a deep sense of fulfillment. Even spending some quiet time in the garden, surrounded with natural greenery, can be healing. An unknown author has rightly said, "Never underestimate the healing power of a quiet moment in the garden".

Most gardeners would agree , the joy and satisfaction in seeing the plants grow at every stage is one of the many reasons to grow plants!

Our place in North Carolina, thankfully has a good humid , subtropical climate .It has long growing season and mild winters for most part .The fair balance of heat , humidity and rain helps decent growth of vegetables, fruits ,herbs and flowers. We planted some saplings and seeds, a couple of months ago .It has been a true joy and very rewarding , seeing them grow at every stage.

Majority of the effort in the garden , was that of my husband . My high school kids and I were merely by-standers , occasionally helping with shoveling , but mostly in planting seeds and saplings, watering and harvesting. Gardening is a great activity with kids .It is a good way to get them out and keep boredom at bay. They can also see the effort and time it takes for a fruit or vegetable to grow , and hence be grateful and appreciative of it.

The photos are all mobile captures . Click on each photo to see the full resolution.Hope the green patch from our yard brightens up your day and inspires the gardener in you .

Love your garden! I hope to grow as much but our Texas weather tends to scorch plants easily. I'll keep trying. I have some in the shade.

Nisha, what an amazing garden you and your family have created! 🌺 Freshly grown veggies are impossible to beat if you ask my humble opinion. Your bell peppers have come along beautifully, and it looks like you've got plenty of cherry tomatoes too! Do you have a favorite?

"Never underestimate the healing power of a quiet moment in the garden”. -- Amen! What a true quote this is. Most of all, I'm grateful you have found it to be true during these crazy times we're living in.

Another wonderful post from you, Nisha. I'm glad you shared the 'green patch from your yard.' I hope many more people will decide to get back to basics and grow some of their own food. It's very rewarding & relaxing. Love to you and yours, my friend. 🤗

Thank you so much dear Holly for your kind words and support . It's true fresh vegetables especially from the garden are so hard to beat. We did get plenty of tomatoes and bell peppers along with green beans and cucumbers .The tomatoes are so good especially with soups . As you say most of all gardening brings us back to basics and it sure is a great therapy. Once again Thanks for taking the time to read and comment truly appreciate it .Have a fabulous rest of the week!
