Mount Soma is about 45 minutes from Asheville, North Carolina. Today's photographs are from my visit to Sri Someswara temple. This Vedic temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is situated in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. There is also a Hanuman Park behind the Siva temple, Mahanandi Park, Ganga Park, a meditation hall, and a visitor center. The drive to the temple is scenic, with lush green fields and mountains.
Being there is very peaceful, and serene, brings spiritual happiness, and is one of the most beautiful temples I have visited. It is also believed to be one of the first temples in the US with 100% 'Vaastu' (science of architecture) which is very rare. They also have overnight accommodations near the temple. Visits during the fall are particularly recommended for the fall colors.
