Happy new year, everyone ! I'm back after my holiday break and travel and hope to catch up with all the posts and messages from all my wonderful fellow bloggers. Today's click is of a red cardinal perched on a tree. I shot this picture using my zoom lens from quite a distance to avoid disturbing it . It looked magnificent in the brown backdrop and I cropped the original image to get a close-up view. Northern cardinals are popular and loved birds and also been named the official bird of about seven U.S. states including the tar heel state of North carolina!
