All chocolate lovers are sure to love them. It is also a fulfilling experience baking them, especially rolling in the powdered sugar and watching the crinkles appear slowly as they bake. I am sure anyone who has baked these decadent beauties knows the feeling.
Why you'll love these cookies?
- They are easy to make if you follow all the instructions, especially cooling the dough before making the cookies.
- It tastes great and is both crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, a tasty combination of a brownie and a cookie.
- Makes great gifts and sweet treats for your friends and loved ones.
- It will surely be a hit with your guests for get-togethers and parties.
Ingredients for the Crinkle Cookies
- For All-purpose flour, I used Arthur's unbleached flour.
- Cocoa powder Ghiradelli 100% cocoa Dutch processed that is unsweetened to get the rich color and chocolate flavor. You can also use natural-processed if you like.
- Avocado oil or any vegetable oil.
- Granulated sugar - I used the unrefined brown one, white granulated sugar can also be used.
- Eggs used are organic and at room temperature.
- Powdered confectioners sugar.
- Baking powder.
- Vanilla essence.
- Salt.
How to make Fudgy and Chewy Chocolate Crinkle Cookies?
We first start by whisking all the dry contents namely the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl take the cocoa powder, eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla essence and beat them together. Initially, I used a spatula to mix them all but finished with a hand mixer so that all the sugar gets well combined. Next, add the flour and mix with a spatula so they all come together. The dough will be a bit sticky and thick. Cover the dough with parchment paper and seal it well with two or three layers so it is airtight. Refrigerate it in a closed container if possible.
It is preferable to refrigerate it overnight or at least three to four hours. I baked mine after four hours. Scoop the dough using an ice cream scoop, roll it in powdered sugar, and bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. You will see the crinkles forming and cracking up the sugar topping. Cool it on a cooking rack and enjoy.
Hope you enjoy making these cookies, some other cookies that you may like are Oatmeal raisin chocolate chip cookies, Hilton-style cookies, and Chocolate chip cookies with walnuts.
