Cauliflower and potato with spices is a very simple, homely, and regular side dish made with cauliflower and potatoes. I make it at least once a week at my home. It is amazing how there are so many varieties of dishes that can be made with cauliflower. This is one dish that you can easily substitute for meat in terms of taste if made the right way. The recipe I shared today can be made in combination with peas, carrot, or bell pepper and it gives a different flavor with every variation of vegetable used in the dish.
The spices, tomato, ginger, and garlic give it a special flavor as well. This delicious side dish goes well with any kind of bread, 'rotis' or rice. The spices used in the recipe is what makes this dish taste special. Dry Mango Powder gives a special tangy taste to potato dishes and this is available by the name Amchur powder. It is easily available in Indian groceries. Garam Masala is another spice that enhances the flavor of this dish.

Yum, looks delicious! 🙂 What is 'Asafoetida' and is it ok to leave it out if you don't have it?
admininspiresn
Thank you for the comment and stopping by! You can skip this ingredient from this dish and it won't make much of a difference .Asafoetida is a gum latex derived from a giant species of fennel. It has an unique and unpleasant strong smell which mellows when cooked.I do skip it sometimes as well.
