    These Easy Chocolate Crinkle Cookies are a perfect holiday treat. They are so tempting and awesome, and taste like a mix of brownies and cookies combined. All chocolate lovers are sure to love them.

    Why do you love these cookies?

    • They are easy to make if you follow all the instructions, especially refrigerating the dough before making the cookies, like in the chocolate chip cookies Hilton Style.

    Ingredients needed

    Named Ingredients used in making chocolate crinkle cookies .
    • For All-purpose flour, I used Arthur's unbleached flour.
    • Cocoa powder Ghirardelli 100% cocoa Dutch-processed and unsweetened to get the rich color and chocolate flavor, used in Chocolate Ganache cake.) You can also use natural processed cocoa flour (used in delicious red velvet cupcakes) if you like.
    • Avocado oil or any vegetable oil.
    • Granulated sugar - I used the unrefined brown one; white granulated sugar can also be used. The brown sugar is great for baking chocolate desserts like the chocolate cake with chocolate cream frosting.
    • Eggs used are organic and at room temperature.
    • Powdered confectioners' sugar, Baking powder, Vanilla essence, and Salt.

    How to make the Easy Chocolate Crinkle Cookies?

    We first start by whisking all the dry contents, namely the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, take the cocoa powder, eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla essence and beat them together. I started mixing with a spatula but switched to a hand mixer to ensure the sugar was fully incorporated.

    Next, add the flour and mix with a spatula so they all come together. The dough will be a bit sticky and thick. Cover the dough with parchment paper and seal it well with two or three layers so it is airtight. Refrigerate it in a closed container if possible.

    Steps 1- 4: Whisk flour, combine eggs, cocoa powder, and sugar, and gently add the flour to form the dough.

    It is preferable to refrigerate it overnight or for at least three to four hours. I baked mine after four hours. Scoop the dough using an ice cream scoop, roll it in powdered sugar, and bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. You will see the crinkles forming and cracking up the sugar topping. Cool it on a cooking rack and enjoy.

    • Double-coat the powdered sugar if necessary. Once the cookies are lined up to bake, ensure your oven is already preheated and ready to take them in for baking, else refrigerate the baking tray with the cookie ball doughs again until ready.
    • Use Dutch-processed cocoa powder for the rich chocolatey flavor.
    • Espresso can be optionally used to bring out the chocolatey flavor, although not a must.

    Why did my chocolate crinkle cookies not get many crinkles?

    Your cookies might not have formed many crinkles because the dough wasn't chilled long enough. Another possible reason is not double-coating the dough with granulated sugar before rolling it in powdered sugar. Also, make sure your baking powder or baking soda is fresh and hasn't expired.

    Why did my crinkle cookie dough get sticky?

    If the dough feels too sticky, gradually add a little flour until it reaches the right consistency, being careful not to overmix. Make sure to refrigerate the dough long enough, and before rolling, dust your palms with flour to make shaping easier.

    How to fix crinkle cookie dough that turned dry?

    Add some water or milk a little by little and mix slowly if the dough gets dry.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • ½ cup cocoa powder unsweetened
    • ¼ cup oil avocado
    • 2 eggs organic, room temperature
    • 1 cup sugar granulated
    • 1 cup sugar confectioners to roll cookies
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • ¼ tsp salt
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • ¼ tsp espresso

    Instructions

    • Whisk the dry ingredients all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt.
    • Using a spatula or a hand mixer and mix the eggs and sugar well along with cocoa powder, vanilla essence, espresso(if using) and oil.
    • Add the dry ingredients to the wet in two additions and mix until well combined.
    • Cover it with cling wrap and refrigerate for about four hours or overnight.
    • When ready to bake, Pre-heat oven to 350 deg Fahrenheit.
    • Keep your baking tray lined with parchment paper and powdered sugar to roll in ready.
    • Scoop a small lemon-sized ball of the dough and roll into a neat ball .
    • Roll this in powdered or confectioner's sugar.
    • Line them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
    • Bake for 10 minutes until you see the crinkles forming but do not over bake.
    • Transfer to a cooling rack and cool it.
    • Cookies are ready to be enjoyed.
