Pan Fried Tilapia is a very simple that comes together very quickly. The advantage of living close to the beach is getting fresh fish from the sea and sometimes even fresh catch. If you are up early, you can get the fish directly from the fishermen before it even reaches the market. The fishes that are more popular back in my hometown are saltwater fishes like sardines, mackerel, kingfish, shrimp, and the like. A marinade with very simple and few ingredients is used to fry them. I use the same marinade for Tilapia bought from the frozen section in the regular store here
Pan Fried Tilapia Ingredients
The marinade for the fried Tilapia or any other fish is very simple. Sometimes the very simple ingredients are what make the fried fish taste great. We will need ginger garlic paste, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, curry leaves, salt, and a few shallots. Mix them all together to form a nice paste.
How to make the fried Tilapia?
Thaw the fish if frozen and then apply the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to an hour so it is well marinated. In a deep-bottomed pan heat up some oil. When the oil is hot place the fish one by one and cook on both sides for about 5 to 10 minutes.
