Baked Salmon Tandoori masala or Indian baked salmon recipe with Tandoori Masala is a must-try and highly recommended if you love baked fish. Salmon is a fatty fish loved by most people, and this turns out very well.
Why does this recipe work?
- It overpowers the fishy taste, and the combined spices give a nice tangy and spicy taste.
- Very easy to make, you just need to make the marinade, coat the fish with it, and marinate for a while.
- You can then bake it or grill it and cook it until it's done.
- A great dish that goes with white rice or wheat rotis.
- Less oil is used in this preparation as it is baked when compared to frying, just like the authentic tandoori chicken.

How to Make Baked Salmon Tandoori Masala?
I had tried varieties of seafood growing up, but never salmon. It was mostly fish like Mackerel, Kingfish, and Sardine. So It took a while to get used to liking salmon initially. After experimenting with a couple of recipes, this baked recipe is one of my favorites. I use the tandoori masala marinade to give it a nice spicy and tangy flavor along with the lemon, ginger, garlic, and yogurt. The full recipe is below. Enjoy!
Wash and pat dry the fish before marinating it. The marinade is made with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, and spices like red chili, turmeric, pepper, and Shaan tandoori masala. Squeeze lemon and add curry leaves and salt. Marinate for three to four hours or at least a minimum of an hour. Bake until done. If it leaves any water, drain it off. Spray some oil and use the broil option for about five to minutes to get a nice color on the top. Be careful not to burn.
