Moist Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe is a must-have. My go-to recipe for the best banana bread with walnuts-a no-fail classic that has quickly become a reader favorite. I mixed things up for a decadent twist: chocolate chips, wheat flour, and subtle ingredient tweaks. The result? A rich, moist chocolate banana bread that is every bit as comforting as the original, but with a hint of indulgence that takes it to the next level.

Moist Chocolate Chip Banana Bread made with Moist Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe served on a white plate.

Why will you love this bread?

    • This moist and tasty bread is a chocolate lover's delight. I have tried using granulated sugar, brown sugar, and a combination of both, and they all turned out good. Brown sugar will make the bread even moister.
    • I also used a combination of all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour. You could use only all-purpose flour as well for this recipe, and it will turn out great.
    • Plain banana bread may be boring; adding chocolate to it makes it like a dessert.
    • Great for kids' lunch boxes, picnics, and get-togethers.

    Ingredients needed

Moist Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe ingredients.
    • All-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, cocoa powder - Main dry ingredients
    • Baking powder and salt - To whisk with the dry ingredients
    • Organic unsalted butter
    • granulated sugar or brown sugar, or a combination
    • Bananas - Use ripe and sweet ones
    • Eggs organic
    • Vanilla extract
    • Add-ons - Chocolate chips - Use semi-sweet or sweet, Walnuts halved and toasted

Moist Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe - How to make?

This recipe is quite easy to make. Steps 1-4) First, start by whisking the dry ingredients all-purpose flour, wheat and cocoa powder. Cream the sugar and butter using a fork or a hand mixer. To this, add mashed bananas, eggs and vanilla extract.

Fold in the dry ingredients slowly, and finally add the chocolate chips and walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 55 minutes to an hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    Useful Tips

    • Use a combination of brown sugar and white sugar to get a moist bread. You may choose to use only brown or white as well.
    • Using wheat flour may make the cake a little dense, so feel free to substitute it with all-purpose flour for a more airy bread.
    • As always, use overripe bananas to get a great-tasting banana bread.
    • While this chocolate banana bread is usually ready in about 55 minutes, ovens can vary. If the center isn't fully set by then, continue baking in 5-minute increments.
    • To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center, and if it comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs, it's ready to come out of the oven.
