Easy no-bake eggless TiramisuTiramisu is a delicious coffee-flavored dessert, layered with indulgent ingredients. Interestingly, the word 'Tiramisu' means 'pick me up' in Italian. It probably got the name because, of the two main ingredients espresso, and cocoa which are caffeinated, and loved by all. This dessert which originated in Italy is made, of rich layers of mascarpone cheese, and ladyfinger cookies dipped in instant espresso, sugar, and whipped cream, and topped with cocoa powder. It sure makes it a very lovable dessert with all such luscious ingredients.
Why you'll love this ?
- Very easy to make and great for get-togethers and parties
- Tastes great and is loved by chocoholics and coffee lovers
- This is an eggless version of Tiramisu and is good for folks looking for such an option.
- It can be made in advance and refrigerated.
- The no-bake and egg-less version, in fact, makes it one of the simplest, and quickest desserts to make.
How to Make the Easy No-Bake Eggless Tiramisu?
There are many variations and recipes to make this lavish dessert. The traditional Tiramisu recipe with eggs as the name suggests usually uses egg, custard, and even alcohol. The recipe I used here is an egg-less, non-alcoholic one. This was on my list of things to make for a long time. Once you have all the ingredients, it is just a matter of layering it ,and refrigerating it .
I used instant coffee powder and sugar. This dessert is usually, not too sweet, but you can always add extra sugar if you prefer to have a sweeter version. The lady finger cookies can be easily found in grocery stores. When dipping the cookies in coffee ensure, not to soak, for very long as they may, not hold shape. Layer the mixture of whipped cream with mascarpone, generously to get nice layers. Finally, dust with cocoa powder, and bits of shaved chocolate. Refrigerate it at least, for six hrs before serving. It will be best if it sits in the refrigerator overnight.
Useful Tips
- Use a sharp knife dipped in hot water to cut neat square shapes. Wipe the knife with a paper towel, before cutting the next slice.
- Add extra sugar if you like a sweeter version of the Tiramisu as this is usually not very sweet.
- Do not soak the cookies too long in coffee when layering, or else they may collapse and not hold their shape.
- Make a day in advance so it can sit in the refrigerator and all the juices are soaked in.
Hope you enjoy making, and having this dessert with family, and friends.
